SMTP Activation

To activate SMTP for your email functionality, please select your email program from the list below.

You should see a window describing your email program’s name and version. Select your email program from those listed on the left side of the page.

Windows

Microsoft Outlook 2007

  • Open Outlook.
  • Select Tools > Account Settings from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Accounts window should appear and a list of email accounts should appear. Double-click on the email account that you would like to modify.
  • The E-mail Accounts window should appear. Click on the More Settings... button in the lower-right corner of the window.
  • The Internet E-mail Settings window should appear. Click on the tab that says Outgoing Server.A checkbox with the words My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication will be at the top of the page. Make sure this checkbox is checked.
  • Directly below the checkbox is a circular radio button with the words Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Make sure this circle is selected and then click OK at the bottom of the page.
  • You will be returned to the E-mail Accounts window. Click the Next button at the bottom of the page.
  • Click Finish at the bottom of the Congratulations! page.

Microsoft Outlook XP/2003

  • Open Outlook.
  • Select Tools > E-mail Accounts... from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • Click the circle next to View or change existing e-mail accounts and click Next.
  • Click on the name of your email account (pop.youki-green.com) and click the Change... button on the right.
  • The E-mail Accounts window should appear. Click on the More Settings... button in the lower-right corner of the window.
  • The Internet E-mail Settings window should appear. Click on the tab that says Outgoing Server.
  • A checkbox with the words My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication will be at the top of the page. Make sure this checkbox is checked.
  • Directly below the checkbox is a circular radio button with the words Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Make sure this circle is selected and then click OK at the bottom of the page.
  • You will be returned to the E-mail Accounts window. Click the Next button at the bottom of the page.
  • Click Finish at the bottom of the Congratulations! page.

Microsoft Outlook 2000

  • Open Outlook.
  • Select Tools > Accounts... from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Internet Accounts window will appear on the screen. Click the tab that says Mail.
  • Click on the name of your email account (pop.youki-green.com) and click the Properties button on the right.
  • The Properties window should appear. Click on the Servers tab.
  • Near the bottom of the Properties window in the section labeled Outgoing Mail Server, make sure the checkbox next to the words My server requires authentication is checked.
  • Click the Settings... button directly to the right of the words My server requires authentication.
  • The Outgoing Mail Server window should appear. At the top of this page is a circular radio button with the words Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Make sure this circle is selected and then click OK at the bottom of the page.
  • You will be returned to the Properties window. Click the OK button at the bottom of the page.
  • You will be returned to the Internet Accounts window. Click Close at the bottom of the screen.

Microsoft Outlook 98

  • Open Outlook.
  • Select Tools > Services... from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Services window will appear on the screen. If it's not already selected, select the tab that says Services.
  • Select Internet E-mail from the area labeled The following information services are available, and click the Properties button.
  • The Properties window should appear. Click on the Servers tab.
  • Near the bottom of the Properties page in the section labeled Outgoing Mail Server, make sure the checkbox next to the words My server requires authentication is checked.
  • Click the Settings... button directly to the right of the words My server requires authentication.
  • The Outgoing Mail Server window should appear. At the top of this page is a circular radio button with the words Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Make sure this circle is selected and then click OK at the bottom of the page.
  • You will be returned to the Properties window. Click the OK button at the bottom of the page.
  • You will be returned to the Services window. Click OK at the bottom of the screen.

Microsoft Outlook 97

Outlook 97 does not support SMTP authentication. Please upgrade to a newer email client.

Microsoft Outlook Express 5.x/6.x

  • Open Outlook Express.
  • Tools > Accounts... from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Internet Accounts window will appear on the screen. Click the tab that says Mail.
  • Click on the name of your email account (pop.youki-green.com) and click the Properties button on the right.
  • The Properties window should appear. Click on the Servers tab.

Microsoft Outlook Express 4.x

Microsoft Vista

Take a note of any settings you change.

Only change the items specified - you should not need to change either your email address, POP3 server, POP3 username / password.

Step One

  • Load Windows (Vista) Mail
  • From the main screen open the the 'Tools' menu and then select 'Accounts...'  

Step Two

  • Click on the email account to modify - this will cause it to become highlighted
  • Click on the 'Properties' button 

Step Three

  • The Properties window should appear
  • Click on the 'Servers' tab
  • Under 'Outgoing Mail Server' tick 'My server requires authentication'
  • Click 'More Settings...' button 

Step Four

  • Select 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server'
  • Click the 'Ok' button 

Step Five

  • Click the 'Close' button. 

Step Six

  • You should now be back to the main Windows Mail main screen
  • Close Windows Mail and then reload
  • Check you are online then test to ensure you can send mail correctly

Mozilla Thunderbird

  • Open Thunderbird.
  • Select Tools > Account Settings... from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Account Settings window will appear on the screen.
  • Click on Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the white pane on the left side of the window, then click the Edit... button on the right side of the window.
  • The SMTP Server window should appear.
  • In the bottom half of the window under Security and Authentication, make sure the checkbox next to Use name and password is checked, and make sure your email username is entered into the box to the right of the words User Name:. Click OK.
  • The Account Settings will reappear. Click OK to exit.
  • When you send an email, Thunderbird will ask for your password. Type it in and save it to be used automatically by Thunderbird if you wish.

Netscape Mail 6.x/7.x

  • Open Netscape.
  • Select Window > Mail & Newsgroups from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Mail & Newsgroups window will appear. Select Edit > Main & Newsgroups Account Settings... from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings window will appear on the screen. Click on Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the white pane on the left side of the window.
  • The Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings pane should appear on the right. Make sure the checkbox next to Use name and password is checked, and make sure your email username is entered into the box to the right of the words User Name:. On the next line below this, make sure the circle next to the word Never is selected and click OK.

Netscape Mail 4.x

  • Open Netscape.
  • Select Communicator > Messenger from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Mail & Newsgroups window will appear. Select Edit > Preferences from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Preferences window will appear on the screen. Click on Mail Servers in the white Category pane on the left side of the window.
  • The Outgoing Mail Server pane should appear on the right below Incoming Mail Servers. In the field labeled Outgoing mail server user name:, enter the user name for your email account. On the next line below this, make sure the circle next to the word Never is selected and click OK.

Eudora

  • Open Eudora.
  • Select Tools > Options from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Options window will appear. Select Getting Started from the Category pane on the left side of the screen.
  • At the very bottom of this screen, make sure the checkbox labeled Allow authentication is checked. Click OK.

  • You should now be back to the main Incredimail XE main screen
  • Close Incredimail XE and then reload
  • Check you are online then test to ensure you can send mail correctly

Macintosh

Mac Mail (OS 10.0-10.2 Jaguar)

  • Open the Mail Program.
  • Click on Mail and select Preferences.
  • Click the Accounts icon.
  • Select your email account from the pane on the left and click the Edit button on the right.
  • At the bottom of the Account Information page, under the Outgoing Mail Server field, click the button labeled Options....
  • On the SMTP Server Options screen, enter smtp.youki-green.com for the Outgoing Mail Server.
  • There will be a field labeled Authentication with a drop-down field to the right. Select Password from the options in the drop-down field.
  • In the User Name field, type your email username and put your email password in the Password field.
  • Click OK.
  • Close all settings windows to return to Apple Mail and you're done!

Mac Mail (OS 10.3 Panther-10.4 Tiger)

  • Open the Mail Program.
  • Click on Mail and select Preferences.
  • Click the Accounts icon.
  • Select your email account from the Accounts pane on the left. Your Account Information should appear on the right.
  • At the bottom of the Account Information page, under the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) field, click the button labeled Server Settings....
  • On the Outgoing Mail Server screen, enter smtp.youki-green.com for the Outgoing Mail Server. There will be a field labeled Authentication with a drop-down field to the right. Select Password from the options in the drop-down field.
  • In the User Name field, type your email username and put your email password in the Password field.
  • Click OK.
  • Close the Preferences window to return to Apple Mail and you're done!

Microsoft Entourage

  • Open Entourage.
  • Select Tools > Accounts from the menu at the top of the screen.
  • The Accounts window should appear. Click on your mtaonline.net email address and click Edit on the toolbar above the tabs.
  • The Edit Account window should appear. At the bottom of this window is an area titled Sending Mail. Click on the button labeled Click here for advanced sending options.
  • Make sure the checkbox next to the words SMTP server requires authentication is checked.
  • Make sure the circle next to Use same settings as receiving mail server is selected and click OK.
  • You'll be returned to the Edit Account window. Click OK.
  • You'll be returned to the Accounts window. Close the window.
